So… I haven’t been keeping up with our food budget at all, so Project: Food Budget went on hold for quite awhile. In fact, my last entry was from March 30th!
That’s okay, though, because I’m jumping back in. We’re about halfway through the year and I’ll be tracking our progress from July forward.
To recap, our weekly budget is $70.00 which means our monthly budget is $280.00. And, if you remember, I was also tracking my coffeehouse spending. Since having Ezra, that has completely gone out the window and I’m sure over the top. But it’s switched from Starbucks to McDonalds, haha. I am seriously addicted to those mocha frappes and they’re a little cheaper than a Starbucks frappuccino so it’s win-win for me! But not for my budget 🙁
On a serious note, I don’t feel completely ready to jump back into Project: Food Budget but I need some motivation to get to cooking again and I figure this is the best way to do it. Ezra is a lot more consistent in his routine now and I feel like I can step away to cook a meal when Alex gets home from work. And I also have a crock pot which gives me really no excuse to not cook dinner.
For this week, I have no meal plan set in place but I do have plenty of ingredients around that I can do something with. I’m just lacking vegetables, but I can make a quick trip to the local market for those!
I’ll be back next week with an actual meal plan. I also plan on taking pictures of our meals, since that was a goal I’d wanted to do before I dropped off with this project since I like to do the monthly recipe recap.
In the meantime, you can check out how the other Project: Food Budget participants are doing!
